Alegria is a 4th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 20,677 people in 4,229 households.

Alegria is politically subdivided into 9 barangays.

Festival
Kawayan Festival - The Municipality of Alegria, Cebu launched Kawayan Festival during the 2006 Annual Town Fiesta. Since then, more and more contingents participate in street dancing (mardi gras). One of the highlights of the festival is a trade fair featuring locally-made Kawayan (native bamboo) products. Just recently, the winner of the 2007 Kawayan Festival (St. Peter Academy Foundation of Alegria, Inc. contingent) made the town proud by winning 3rd place in the Sinulog sa Kabataan - Lalawigan during the Sinulog 2008 Festival in Cebu City.
